The Library recognizes the importance of expressing goodwill and appreciation to its employees, not only upon resignation or retirement, but also every year and at other milestones.
Service Anniversaries
Each year, employees will receive service anniversary cards from the president of the Board of Trustees on their anniversary dates.
All employees will be recognized at five year intervals, beginning on the 5th anniversary, of their starting date. Recognition will take place at the holiday party regularly scheduled for December.

Retirements/Resignations
Upon the resignation or retirement of an employee, who has served one or more years, the Board will draft a resolution recognizing the contributions of the staff person, have it framed, and present it to the employee at the time of his/her leaving.
In addition, for those who are retiring, the Board authorizes the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $50.00 for a retirement gift or the next service award, whichever is greater, and the cost of a lunch/dinner for the retiring person. For those who resign, the Board authorizes the cost of the lunch/dinner only.
Special Occasions
To recognize important events in an employee’s life (e.g., births, weddings, and graduations), the Board will mark the occasion by presenting an appropriate book or gift certificate to the individual in an amount not to exceed $25.
